CareerClub actively monitors job postings on our platform to ensure they do not violate our Terms of Use. We immediately remove job postings that CareerClub suspects are fraudulent. However, fraudulent job postings can appear, and we suggest you use caution in your job search.

Here are some tips to help you recognize and avoid a suspicious job posting.

• Do not send money to a recruiter or prospective employer.
• Do not send money to anyone claiming to have found you a job as part of working for CareerClub or for a company using CareerClub for recruitment.  (We don’t do this.)
• Do not give out personal or financial account information to a new employer via email or messaging service.
• Do not cash cheques or transfer funds for your employer.
• Beware of spelling errors and bad grammar.
• If something sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
• Beware of job postings that ask you to send your resume to a free email address (e.g. @gmail.com, @mail.com, etc.).

Do your homework. Be sure to research any job opportunity that interests you. If you see a suspicious job posting, Contact Us and include the link to the job posting on CareerClub in your email. Still, no system is perfect, no matter how sophisticated or well-intentioned. That is why we take steps to educate job seekers about how to spot suspicious activity and encourage reporting of all such activity to us so we can investigate and take prompt remedial action.

If you think you have been a victim of fraud, immediately report the fraud to your local police and contact CareerClub.
