Job Overview/Summary:
We are seeking a UCS/VMware Engineer who will be responsible for the installation, administration, and support of UCS/VMware systems. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in hardware, firmware, and software support for these systems, with a strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues independently.
Responsibilities:
Hardware Support (5%): Identify and replace failed hardware components such as memory, CPU, power supplies, and hard drives.
Firmware Support (25%): Plan and upgrade firmware on UCS/VMware systems.
Monitoring (5%): Monitor systems using tools such as Cisco Intersight and Cisco UCS Manager.
Software Support (25%): Plan for and upgrade HyperFlex Connect software/cluster.
Work with internal teams to cross-train and familiarize with the organization’s systems and processes.
Troubleshoot and resolve UCS/VMware issues without escalation to internal engineers.
Utilize tools, subscriptions, licenses, and technical support contracts as needed for system maintenance and support.
Primary Skills:
3-5 years of experience installing, administering, and supporting UCS/VMware systems.
Expertise in hardware replacement (memory, CPU, power supplies, hard drives, etc.).
Strong experience in firmware upgrades and management for UCS/VMware.
Experience monitoring systems using Cisco Intersight and Cisco UCS Manager.
Proven ability to perform software upgrades on HyperFlex Connect software/cluster.
Secondary Skills (Good to Have):
Familiarity with troubleshooting and resolving complex UCS/VMware system issues independently.
Experience with cross-training and collaborating with internal teams on system processes and tools.
Qualifications:
3-5 years of hands-on experience in UCS/VMware environments.
Ability to troubleshoot hardware, firmware, and software issues independently.
Experience with monitoring and upgrading UCS/VMware systems.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
